Free “ORTHO CLINIC” September 20011
Orthopaedic Associates recently sponsored a “Free Ortho Clinic” which was set up by volunteers at Chambersburg Hospital. Many doctors and providers volunteered their time to serve the community and provide free Orthopedic Care. Doctors Robert Richards Jr., Shabbar Hussain, Rodger Robertson, Anthony Bruno, and Karli Richards provided their care and expertise to many patients in need. The Rotary Club of Chambersburg and many nurses, physical therapists, receptionists and transcriptionists voluteered their time for this clinic. Over 90 patients were served during this Free Clinic day. We would like to thank all of the volunteers for your time and care. We plan to make this an annual event to help those in our community.
ECUADOR MISSION TRIP 2008
Community Cares for Kids, founded by Dr. and Mrs. Francis Collini, is a non for profit organization that sponsors underprivileged children suffering from congenital birth defects. This organization takes a group of doctors and volunteers to Ecuador every year to perform corrective surgery on these children.
In August of 2008, Dr. Karli Richards accompanied Dr. Collini and a group of doctors on a mission trip to Guayaquil, Ecuador. The doctors, nurses, anesthesiologists, and volunteers operated on hundreds of underprivileged children with club foot deformities, congenital deformities, burns, and cleft palates. Dr. Richards, with surgeons from St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem, PA, performed several club foot surgeries on children with deformities. Dr. Richards plans to return to Ecuador with in the next few years to volunteer again on a similar trip.
